Director: Jaime Hayon
Jaime Hayon, born in Madrid in 1974, is one of the most important figures of contemporary design. His international work combines art with design and highlights the transversality of his multiple creations: industrial design with an artisan foundation, interior design and art.
Hayon has worked for BD Ediciones, Camper, Metalarte, Baccarat, Moooi, Lladró and other major companies, interspersing personal artistic projects. The book Jaime Hayon Works, edited by Gestalten in 2008, tells the story of his career pathway and process.
Design Biennale Interieur in Belgium selected Hayon as the guest of honor for their 2008 edition, where they presented a retrospective exhibition of his work. He has received important international awards such as Elle Deco for the best design of 2006, Stage: Best Installation at the London Design Festival in 2006, Wallpaper best upcoming designer and Wallpaper 100% design contribution to design, among many others.
Jaime Hayon studied at the IED Madrid as part of the first graduating class in industrial design. Fifteen years ago he has taken over the management of the Master of European Design Labs for 2010, its fourth edition.
