Carlos Barrabés, Director of the Master of Strategic Design Labs Masters, has been chosen as one of the young global leaders by the World Economic Forum among over 5000 other candidates.
The list published by this organization includes 197 people from 74 countries, chosen from more than 5000 proposals. The entrepreneur has been recognized as one of the leaders under 40 who can change the world. Founder of the mountain-based web portal Barrabes.com, he is the only Spanish representative of the business world that was included in the list.
A pioneer of electronic commerce in Spain, Carlos is valued as one of the most enterprising Spanish entrepreneurs. He began his career with his first mountain equipment store with sales service via the internet. This initiative later generated other businesses, such as consulting, a publishing house and a network of 10 actual stores.
Carlos Barrabés is currently an advisor to major national and international companies and institutions, based on his own experience. He is also a regular conference speaker on topics of technology, a reference point for the world of SMEs in Spain, and actively participates in Ashoka, the largest network of social innovation in the world.
Also included in the list, published annually by the Davos World Economic Forum, are, among others: Princess Mette Marit of Norway, tennis player Roger Federer, swimmer Ian Thorpe, soprano Anna Netrebko, designer Stella McCartney, and athlete Hicham el Guerrouj.
