Students of the Master of European Design Labs exchanged their classrooms for one of the world’s most important artistic reference points: Paris. We’ll tell you about the educational route of these students through some of the most important centers and institutions in the area of international design. They traveled from June 29th to July 2nd, 2011.

Haute Couture, glamour, art, design, sophistication and romanticism are a few of the many words to describe a city like Paris, an artistic reference point, always avant-garde and open to new trends.

One trip brought them to one of the world’s enclaves of contemporary art, the Pompidou Center, to visit the exhibition Reinstallations by plastic artist François Morellet, through a collection of his installations in diverse spaces. The journey through design, art and creativity continued to the Maison Baccarat, a space where students could see brand projects and the new line of products from Jaime Hayon, Director of the Master of European Design Labs and an international reference figure for Spanish design.

Following the artistic route, the Le Petit Palais Museum, an emblematic building of Parisian Belle Époque architecture, was the perfect enclave for discovering the work of avant-garde architect, designer and photographer: Charlotte Perriand. This left them with a pleasant taste in their mouths to continue on to visit the Gedeon Studio and meet Bernard Bréchet in person, one of the artists of this French agency of audiovisual design. The Louis Vuitton Cultural Space, Le Musée des Arts Décoratifs and Le Petit Atelier de Paris, among other places, completed the educational agenda in one of the most inspiring and creative corners of the world.

As a culmination of this trip to the center of artistic and professional bohemia, our students attended the celebration for the first anniversary of Brooklyn We Go Hard (BWGH), the French brand founded by two friends who created a new urban artistic concept of fashion linked to photography. Because everything has more meaning in a city like Paris. À bientôt!
