The Advertising Creativity Event. The Master of Communication Design Labs at the Bilbao Festival El Sol

The must-visit creativity event in Spain is El Sol, El Festival Iberoamericano de la Comunicación Publicitaria. This is an international multimedia event which brings together great Spanish and Latin American publicists, and was not to be missed by the students of the Master of Communication Design Labs.

This is an international multimedia event which brings together great Spanish and Latin American publicists, and was not to be missed by the students of the Master of Communication Design Labs.

This Festival, created in 1986 by the Asociación Española de Agencias de Comunicación Publicitaria (AEACP), aims to promote Spanish advertising creativity while setting up a meeting place to identify the best campaigns and thus contribute to improving the profession.

The young communicators of the Masters of Design and Innovation went to the Basque city to steep themselves in all the culture, art and gastronomy of Bilbao, as well as to experience at first hand this event, which is so relevant and loaded with creativity.

During the Festival the students were able to enjoy a host of activities, ranging from visualizing the long and short lists with all the audiovisual works selected as this year’s best, to strolling around the exhibition of all the graphic art works, divided by subject.

Among the factors which brought advertising reality closer to the students were the lectures offered by El Sol. Some of the most enjoyed by the students were CEVICHE ADN, by Virgilio Martínez, chef and Peruvian businessman, and Gonzalo Figari, Creative Director of D6; and SOMOS TODOS HIJOS DE GABO by Walter Susini, VP Global-Brand Creative Excellence of Unilever, talking about the social responsibility of large brands.

Inevitably, the students put the finishing touch to this event by going with their tutor Ugo Ceria, Strategic CEO of JWT, Spain, to the cocktail party attended by all the advertising creatives, as well as enjoying the awards ceremony: 240 prizes in the 12 competition sections, which were awarded to agencies from 12 countries.

 

MASTER OF COMMUNICATION DESIGN LABS

Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 9.30 to 18.00 h, distributed between lessons, tutorials, research and trips.
Language: all the lessons are taught in English.
