Master of European Design Labs 2009 students visited Barajas Airport on April 13th and 14th of 2009. The idea of Transit is the sole protagonist of this space, and the travel experience is alive throughout all its complexity.
Amauri Arrieta, CCA Public Relations and Amalia García Alonso, Barajas Public Relations accompanied EDL’09 on its visit to the Barajas Air Traffic Control Center and Terminal T4, which revealed two aspects of collective transportation.
The Barajas Air Traffic Control Center monitors and directs the air traffic of most of the peninsula’s air space through a complex system of radars and controllers. The flow management is purely virtual. At T4, the students visited passenger transit areas as well as automated luggage management areas. Here, the flow is treated in a physical way.
