This new initiative by the car brand is aimed at advancing the career of new Spanish talents, in the field of design. The prize was likewise announced by the platform Product Design Madrid (PDM), which also selected the works of more Masters of Design and Innovation students:
– Jorge Penadés. Master of Product Design Labs student, 2014, Jorge stood out in this competition for his project Nomadic Shelves, shelves based on a collapsible structure which uses no screws, nails or glue.
– Andrea Génova. This Master of Product Design Labs graduate, 2012, was selected for her thesis project Lightfold, a series of lights designed using a unique type of extraordinarily translucent porcelain.
Fabio Molinas was finally chosen, thanks to his project Tavola Arcaica, by a top-level jury, made up, among others, of the great Spanish designers Ramón Esteve and Héctor Ruiz, and the studio CuldeSac.
Tavola Arcaica is a conceptual project based on the capacity to build a strong emotional link between people and food with everyday objects, which go beyond their use.
This table is a re-interpretation of prehistoric tools, which have been adapted to satisfy the modern man; it is ergonomic and is designed to be used in the same way that ancestors used their tools, thus creating a connection between the person and the dish.
