Carlos Barrabés participates in the Future Observatory of MadridDesignNet

Last Wednesday, May 19, 2010, Carlos Barrabés, Director of the Master of Strategic Design Labs, participated with Clive Van Heerden and Takayuki Kubo in the conference Designing the society of the future, the first of the Future Observatory's programs organized by MadridDesignNet.

The Future Observatory is a committee of experts and visionaries who analyze society from different disciplines in order to reflect on the future of the city as a place for social exchange. After the first conference in Madrid, the following events will be held in Milan, Shanghai, Sao Paulo and Barcelona.

During his discussion, Barrabés highlighted the importance of sociological changes that define present-day society: the new identity, the new concept of intimacy and the new management of talent. In this panorama, he defines design as a "lever of action, which makes constant change possible," while, at the same time, "through Design Thinking, it outlines the identity of the product or service."
