Together with Vincenzo Di Maria, the Masters of Design and Innovation students explored the limits between design and social innovation: How can we add value to our service, improving the user experience?
In this intense, week-long workshop, the young professionals delved into the sphere of Service Design, an interdisciplinary field of design which combines the best of creativity, empathy and strategy. Thus, like Social Innovation, it is a process that generates value and a positive change in the response to complex social problems.
The tools and methods of design thinking dealt with in this workshop are accessible and transferable to other fields of application, such as, for example, public sector policies and urgent social needs. For this reason, the main mission of these sessions was to be able to finally conclude with the development of a service design mind-set in order to apply it to a real external project.
The environment chosen to put this knowledge into practice was Thinkids Project, a new educational programme for the development of creativity and imagination in order to encourage enterprise from a young age. In connection with this interesting programme, the Masters of Design and Innovation students actively contributed their know-how in the carrying out this unusual camp.
