The design theorist Ezio Manzini is to host the conference 'Next, Design in the age of networks and sustainability' at 19:30, Thursday 29th April at IED Master’s (c/Larra, 14. 28004 Madrid). Asier Pérez (Funky Projects) will also participate. The lecture will be transmited on line at iedmadrid.com.
Manzini is a Professor of Industrial Design at Politecnico di Milano and director of the Interdepartmental Centre on Innovation for Sustainability. His work centres around innovation processes within the productive system and the relationship between product strategy and environmental policies to help ensure sustainable development.
Observing all facets of society has given rise to the idea of innovating with new trends to bring about more sustainable results.
He has publicated important essays, as Agriculture, food and design: New Food Networks for a Distributed Economy (2005), Creative Communities and Open Models: Lines of Research on Governance for Sustainability (2006), Emerging User Demands for Sustainable Solutions, EMUDE (2007) o Design per la sostenibilità ambientale (2007).
