The intercontinental trips of the Master of Design and Innovation are a key point in the programme as an educational experience that the students enjoy first hand. The selected destinations in this edition are North Africa (Morocco) and South America (Colombian Amazon).
A unique opportunity for students to put into practice the power of the designer as an active agent of social change. The professionals of the 21st century must face challenges such as social commitment, scarcity of natural resources, waste management and the conservation and regeneration of natural habitats.
The Amazon project in this academic year could not be more aligned with these global needs. The creatives will enjoy a unique experience in the heart of the Colombian Amazon with Fundación Omacha and Planeta Biomimetico España, researching possible social innovation projects that will generate a positive impact in the Amazon and its population.
Sustainable development and the empowerment of women in the eastern region of Morocco is the focal point of the trip organised in partnership with Faiza Hajji, founder of the Association du Docteur Fatiha (ADF). An itinerary that includes the Amal Center, several sustainable villages and local cooperatives. Furthermore, they will participate in a design workshop on permaculture, a natural agroecological technology system.
The trips of the Master of Design and Innovation of IED Madrid are experiences that create extraordinary moments for the learning and personal growth of designers, turning them into professionals who are capable of combining the specific features of each discipline with the transversal and multidisciplinary approaches that are demanded of today’s creatives.
