Neptuno (NPTN), the project developed by Eric Müller as a student of the Master of Product Design Labs 2016, has been selected to take part in the Artsthread Selection at Design Junction 2017. A select display of innovative interior design developed by talented youths from all over the world.
Design Junction functions as a platform to lend visibility to new brands, with an audience of 27,000 design aficionados and professionals who attend the event to discover new trends, find out about new brands and buy new products. The event will take place during the London Design Festival and will bring together more than 200 brands.
Neptuno (NPTN) is not the only project produced by the IED Madrid talent on display at Design Junction 2017: While Out Seeding (by the Product Design student David Sordo), OWN Carpet (by the Master in Interior Design student, Paula Sanz) and Pina (by the Product Design student Christina Schwertschlag) also form part of the Artsthread Selection 2017.
¿Qué es NPTN?
NPTN is the first upcycled Bluetooth speaker made from plastic. An initiative by the designer Eric Müller Moreno to prove that such a chaotic material as rubbish can be transformed into something beautiful, geometrical and precise.
The contrast between avant garde technology and simple DIY techniques is used to create a technological object using plastic bags. By applying a low temperature cycle the plastic magically creates stones as textures with modular sound technology.
The speakers are updatable and modular. Users can personalise them and creative different shapes and combinations, even increasing the sound power by adding new modules.
A customizable product that reveals the fact that we all have the power to turn the future into something more optimistic, luminous and creative, without halting technological progress.
