The global event in the furniture sector takes place in Milan. For one week, this city becomes the capital of design, a destination for all professionals and lovers of design, with a display of the best work by designers and interior designers from all over the world.
Naturally, the students of the Master of Product Design Labs and the Master of European Design Labs spent eight days there, where they did not miss a single detail of the new trends on show at this must-see event.
Milan offered a constant showcase of designers, manufacturers, architects, decorators, etc. and endless interior design elements which fascinated our students at the International Furniture Salon of Milan.
Additionally, part of the interest of this fairs lies in everything that takes place in parallel to the Salone. The city is devoted to offering lectures, shows, showrooms, galleries and spaces devoted to design, and students were able to follow all the routes in Milan under the title Fuorisalone.
Along with the Program Leaders mischer’traxler, they discovered areas such as Tortona Around Design,Ventura Lambrateand Brera Design District. Likewise, they also visited exhibitions showcasing the talent of students and former students of the Masters of Design and Innovation.
In a more personalised way, visits were carried out to the studios of important figures in the world of design, such as the Michele de Lucchi Studio, as well as making essential cultural stops at the Spazio Rossana Orlandi, Achille Castiglioni Museum and the Triennale Design Museum.
Without a doubt, this trip was a perfect chance to search for inspiring projects and professionals that might help each student with their final thesis. A task which mischer’traxler, the Program Leaders of the MA, personally requested, so that they can continue to focus their identities and careers as designers.
