08 Workshops: Master of Strategic Design Labs
Ideas are not transformed into profitable businesses by magic or overnight, although they can do it faster if you know how. Natalia Argüello does know and wanted to transmit her knowledge to the students with this workshop with which she prepared them to launch their ideas to entrepreneurs, investors and consultants and also introduced them to design thinking and business principles to validate their ideas.
In addition, they dealt with the needed keys to achieve success in the global market, the importance of storytelling for business and the mechanisms that run the entrepreneur ecosystem in the United States.
But above all, they went beyond their own projects thanks to the consultancy sessions with Natalia, which made them able to analyse their future businesses and promote their new lives as entrepreneurs.
Great projects are born of great ideas and these in their turn sprout from a seed: creativity. But it is not an easy seed to grow, and although it is inside all of us, we don’t always know how to make it take root. In this workshop with Siddhartha Meneses, the main objective was for the students to reach their creative force and know how to bring it out to confront different challenges.
Dealing with the unknown, breaking “the circle of fear” and identifying their creative abilities were some of the factors which students grappled with to reach these goals. Through several theory classes, collective debates and collaborative projects, they also trained their communication skills “saying things as they did them” and learning by making mistakes in the “School of Error”.
