Masters of Design and Innovation
  • Masters of Design and Innovation

Special occasions where students have broken away from the routine of the classroom with workshops and lectures that go beyond the strictly academic.

An opportunity to learn in another environment, promote divergent thinking and meet professionals and leading experts in the sector. An ideal context in which to analyse current design under different approaches and get to know the complex and changing world of work.

1 Challenge Maker Day

Students of the Masters of Design and Innovation enjoyed the fifth edition of the event. The Challenge Maker Day is a cycle that is carried out annually in order to enrich students and help them embark on the path to career success, as well as providing answers to some of their questions regarding the world of work.

The event consisted of a morning divided into workshops and talks aimed at the professionaldevelopment of young creatives. The aim is for each student to become a “challengemaker”: an active protagonist in future professional challenges who is aware of upcoming opportunities.

2 Company Day

IED Master organized another annual edition of Company Day, the exclusive presentation of the projects carried out during the last edition of the Masters of Design and Innovation, at the exhibition R/evolution.

Companies like L’Oreal, BBVA, Designit, Opinno and Good Rebels were present, to hear about the ideas, projects and designs of the young creators. In short, a closing to the master programme that brings designers closer to their new careers.

3 Personal Collection

What better way to get to know oneself than through activities that enrich one’s creative side? The Personal Collection workshop encourages introspection and personal reflection, and their subsequent expression through design. The event was led by Katharina Mischer & Thomas Traxler, and taught by Alvaro de Ocón.

Students had to reflect a number of characteristics that define them as people, through a small collection of eight objects. To do so, they need to work in an abstract way, modifying or creating from scratch these small representations of themselves to create a family of objects with a common and consistent narrative.

4 Salad Design Lab

What is a salad? The best ideas come when one questions the world as it is. This leads to bold thinking, taking nothing for granted and rethinking preconceived notions and those which are established in society.

Through new salad recipes, the Masters of Design and Innovation braved the creation of anew concept, the challenge of unlearning and reinventing, giving free rein to their imagination.
