16 Changing Perspectives
We are born with a magical perspective of the world, a broad and wild vision. Kids are gifted with the power of untamed thoughts. Unfortunately, most people grow up and narrow their view, reducing their world, no longer seeing what is beyond their short distance focus, limiting their possibilities. Change becomes scary, and innovating feels like an unclear task. We need someone to help us look at things in a different way, widening our point of view, in order to stay relevant in a world that changes so quickly. Opinno is a company that transforms organizations by changing their perspective, delivering impact through collaborative innovation. We are guided by the belief that being resilient and open to change keeps companies prepared for the exponential world we live in.
But when you are focused on external transformation, it is easy to forget that being ready for change yourself is fundamental. Having a transversal communication plan, in which external and internal communication work together, eliminates the issue of helping others and having no resources left for your own growth. Because you can’t preach something that you don’t practice; how can we sell innovation if we don’t show innovation ourselves? Changing perspectives campaign deals with this issue from the core, tackling the misconception some people have about what innovation is, and bringing back the focus to the engine, the people in Opinno. Nonetheless, I encountered how difficult this change is for some, even in a consultancy firm selling innovation. We made this project applicable in only one department of the company, but one which can be used as an example to initiate change in the company as a whole.
