Former students of the Master of European Design Labs 2010 are participating in the Victoria Experiment 2012, a project in which the footwear brand Victoria discovers the creative processes of 12 young designers. The results will be exhibited at the Bread and Butter fashion fair, which is taking place in Berlin on July 6-8, 2011.
The international designers participating in this initiative include: Aleksandra Gantseva, Renée Rossouw, André Simón, Juan Enrique Aguilar, Felipe Eusse, Daria Gantseva, Carissa Santoso, Barak Alberro, Paula Sevilla, Paula Benvegnú, María Perales and María Domínguez.
Each of them has designed one or various models under the premises of intuition and experimentation. Inspired by the texture of canvas, I’ve used the Victoria as a blank canvas for the illustrations I create, comments graphic designer Juan Enrique Aguilar.
Some of them have based their projects on their own native countries. I’ve decided to link my design to South Africa in order to represent its identity, confirms Renée Rossouw. On the other hand, Aleksandra Gantseva points out that her sneakers are intended to symbolize the richness and soul of traditional Russian culture.
María Perales spoke to us about this work in the section Alumni. You can also find news about the other students who have collaborated in the Victoria Experiment 2012 by following the same link.
